About

“Мост” which is possible to read as “most” is a bridge in Russian. We did not use this name by chance: it reflects the meaning of the project – to connect knowledge about Russian culture for people in the Philippines.

This project was born out of the desire to bring people closer together through culture, to create a bridge between Russia and the Philippines that is not made of politics or economics, but of stories, traditions, and shared human experiences. Culture is the language that does not require translation, the invisible thread that unites people despite distance, history, or background. By speaking through art, music, literature, and traditions, we learn not only about others but also about ourselves.

Russia is often imagined as a vast and distant land, full of mystery and contrasts, with its golden domes, white winters, and rich folklore. Yet Russian culture is much more than symbols or stereotypes. It is the warmth of hospitality, the love of poetry, the passion for song, and the ability to find meaning even in silence. Through this project, we want to share these facets of Russia with the people of the Philippines, showing that beneath the surface of differences there lies something deeply familiar — the human soul that seeks beauty, truth, and connection.

The Philippines, with its vibrant cultural identity, is no stranger to the richness of tradition and the importance of community. This makes it a perfect place for dialogue between two worlds that may seem far apart but are in fact much closer in spirit. By presenting Russian culture here, we do not aim to replace or overshadow, but to enrich, to offer new perspectives, and to invite everyone to discover something inspiring, moving, or simply curious.

This website is a space of encounter. It is not an encyclopedia and not a textbook, but rather a living story told through articles, reflections, and cultural insights. It is a reminder that culture is not a relic of the past but a living force that shapes the way we see the world today. And if through this project even one person in the Philippines feels a little closer to Russia, or one Russian feels that their culture has been understood and appreciated abroad, then its purpose is fulfilled.

Here we celebrate connection, curiosity, and the beauty of diversity. And we invite you to walk with us on this path of cultural discovery, where every step opens a new window into the world and reminds us that, at the core, humanity shares one home.
